Katari Veera Surasundarangi – logic, magic all are gimics
Going to barbeque nation hotel with full of hungriness and expectations and returning with worst dishes is the comparison I did when I was getting down on the elevators of forum mall from third floor of PVR.
This year’s most controversial and off cource industries most controversial movie for so many reasons, for me it attracted for few reasons like first complete Kannada 3D movie, sequel of Rakta kanniru, upendra involved in script and dialogue. But everything vent in vein.
Movie starts with Upendra wish to be a don and met with muttappa Rai and got some good message but without listening to him he attack some don and die in one such attack, then complete story shift to Yamaloka where he create conflict between yama and chitragupta, Ambi and Doddanna respectively. Starts election for the post of head of Yamaloka and campaign for chitragupta as soon as he saw Devakanye, Ramya moved to here devaloka. There turning around tree for love, fighting against villains, god’s, against Devendra father of Ramya and final get his love. Brahma will come and conclude their love by giving some test on earth. In climax story shift to earth again some drama and happy ending, this is 6 line story of the movie as I observed!
Generally there are three kind of movies one without logic you have to watch and enjoy, other complete logic and nothing out of natural sequence and other type is partially will miss logic and there is a margin for those kind of errors, but some great? Movies will throughout everything and suddenly as for logic and again go back for reality finally you will end up with confusion that in which category (out of above three) we can add the movie, and KVS is one such movie.
There are so many loop holes in the movie, where to start? I am getting confused. When he moved to Yamaloka he will capture video of chitragupta when he was doing some mischievous with lady and he will black mail with that, is it acceptable? When some god’s come to know that he is in love with ramya they will attack in heaven, there he will fight against like a normal people, while coming back to earth Brahma will tell that upendra will forget everything once he moved to earth, but within 5 min he will remember all the things. These are just samples, we can see poor editing as well, director has no where control over the story and screenplay , though you can feel shadow of typical Upendra ‘s movie all the way but he also fails to get pass. Dialogues which is considered as his strength failed to showcase on the screen, as mohan of Rakta kanniru get some claps but rest no catchy dialogues. Sometimes you will see unnecessary lengthy dialogues.
This movie could have done in better way, since Rakta kanniru tragic hero Mohan was there in hell and upendra also moved to hell so two guys from different world, conversation, debets, defending their way of life, through some stones on tradition.. so many things with which you can keep audience on some sides, but nothing dude.
Let me tell some good things at last performance wise uppi rocks, who occupies almost all the time on screen, rest all supporting ramya, Ambi, donnana, Sridhar everyone clearly walk through their paths. With respect to 3D by ignoring some draw backs full marks again, songs and music better we can mute them. Choreography is the other hero of the movie.
Though Muniratna, Upendra and suresh Krishna taken a different subject and spent money like anything for such a luxurious sets failed to deliver the master piece, they should think once before releasing that they released the move on 2012 not at 1990’s..

Anna Bond : poor bonding
I will not blame anyone after watching the, whom should I blame?. My friend prasad for taking balcony tickets or for eshwari theater owner for showing the movie or punith for selecting such movie or Raaghanna for producing. But I will blame soori. Though I have not seen all punith s movie, I have seen all Soori’ s movie and this is his career’s worst movie, I got interest on kannada movies only after watching two classical mungaru male and duniya, but after seeing this it seemed to be my selection on kannada movies will be going more choosy now onwards.
After block buster Jackie, I will clear that also. movie has not strong story line, because of songs and debut combination of soori, punith and rangayana raghu it worked out also movie was good technical.
But here nothing is worth, your money is worth only for watching rangayana raghu on screen for his typical dialogue and most of the time voice is also not clear because of poor dubbing.
Songs, yogaraj bhat continues his speaking language songs, nothing new lyrics his typical mixture songs, also nothing new in harikrishna’s music, sometimes it recalls jackie’s music.
Two girls but no use, not much scope for them also to show there talents, supporting characters is included unnecessarily it seems, jacki shraf’s Kannada is very difficult to digest, instead he could have use hindi to get some realistic scenes.
No strong story, no eye catching, heart touching scenes, immediate climax everything is like a moment when guys will get ready for unplanned trip.
Ok fine let me give some good words to soori at last, dialogue of rangayana raghu, that to with limited edition, punith ‘s action scenes and only action scenes. Nothing much good things to say about this.
This is for soori in particular “ you are technically more stronger than any current generation directors as I think, this I concluded only after watching your all earlier movies, never ever go for hero based movies which you started from last 2 movies, go for strong story, sharp dialogue, gripped direction. Finally your script and story should select the hero not the hero should start your script.
I will give 5 out of 10
